devtodev Key Milestones in 2020

2020 was a year of major enhancements for devtodev, introducing smarter analytics tools, improved real-time tracking, and expanded integrations. From automation to deeper monetization insights, here’s a look at the most impactful updates.

Expanded Attribution Tracking with Tenjin Integration

To give developers more flexibility in tracking user acquisition, we integrated with Tenjin, a mobile measurement platform.

Now, alongside Adjust, AppsFlyer, Kochava, and Branch, devtodev users can:

  • Analyze traffic sources more effectively

  • Optimize ad spend and user acquisition strategies

  • Automate campaign tracking and performance analysis

Automated ROI & CPI Tracking

We introduced Cost per Install (CPI) tracking and automated ROI calculations, allowing developers to:

  • Track CPI from Kochava, Adjust, AppsFlyer, and Branch

  • Get a clearer picture of ad spend efficiency

  • Compare acquisition costs with actual in-game revenue

Real-Time Alerts & Performance Bar

To help developers stay on top of key changes, we launched:

  • devtodev Alerts – Customizable notifications for significant metric shifts in retention, revenue, and engagement

  • Real-time Performance Bar – Instantly see how today’s metrics compare to the previous day

These updates reduced the need for constant manual monitoring and improved response time for game teams.

Advanced In-Game Analytics: Churn Tracking & Player Segmentation

Two new features provided deeper insights into player behavior:

  • Churn metrics in the Game Structure report – Developers could now track level-specific churn rates to optimize difficulty curves.

  • Dynamic custom segments – Users could now segment players based on in-game purchases, level progression, and ad campaign sources.

User Funnels & Behavior Analysis Enhancements

A major step toward live operations, devtodev expanded its funnel tracking capabilities, adding:

  • User Profiles in Funnels – Export player IDs at each step for targeted engagement campaigns.

  • New Triggering Events – Developers could segment players based on in-game purchases, achievements, and progression events.

Cumulative Metrics by Level for Deeper Monetization Insights

We enhanced the Game Structure report with:

  • Cumulative ARPU by Level – Analyzing long-term revenue trends across different stages of player progression.

  • Level conversion tracking – Identifying the most profitable game levels.

This update helped teams optimize their monetization strategy at a granular level.

Report Master Revamp for Multi-Project Analysis

The Report Master received a major redesign, enabling:

  • Side-by-side comparison of financial and behavioral metrics across multiple games.

  • Easier identification of high-performing markets and features.

  • Custom filtering for revenue, retention, and engagement trends.

Custom Events Management for More Flexible Tracking

To streamline event tracking, devtodev introduced:

  • Event renaming – Fix event names without requiring an app update.

  • Blocking unwanted events – Reduce clutter and keep tracking relevant.

New Retention by Event Report

This report allowed developers to:

  • Compare retention rates based on specific in-game actions.

  • Identify key engagement drivers and optimize tutorial steps.

  • Reallocate budgets based on player behavior patterns.
